Created in collaboration with the Snoqualmie Tribe Ancestral Lands Movement and Conservation Northwest, the meaning behind this bandana design comes from a recognition of how the habitat and wildlife has changed in the Upper Snoqualmie Valley. Over time, the valley has faced the degrading effects of logging and mining in the region. These changes had many adverse impacts to the health and growth of the valley, including the loss of certain native animal species. This collaborative bandana design focuses on those native animals that are no longer present as well as the native animals who currently call the valley home. The design provides a perspective through time that encourages the wearer to consider their own impacts to future habitats.
